(Internal) Audit and Contract Officer - Croydon - Surrey

TCL/LJ 220755: Our client seeks an audit and contract officer for an assignment within the audit and fraud prevention department of its finance and resources division.
We are acting for a N Surrey/S London based local authority
The post will be located in Croydon, CR9 and will be for 36 hpw, Mon-Fri, normal business hours.
This is anticipated to be, initially at least, an 8 month assignment.
Essence of role:
To assist the Audit & Contract Manager in the overall development of the audit contract and to contribute to the development of monitoring arrangements and to monitor the operational aspects of the audit contract.
To assist in the development of the annual audit plan, in consultation with departments and assist in monitoring the work of the internal audit contractor to ensure that the audit plan is delivered, that audit recommendations are implemented and that there is effective integration between internal and external activities.
Candidate requirements (*indicates must be CLEARLY EVIDENT FROM YOUR CV, not just your covering letter, to avoid auto-rejection by client):
*UK internal audit experience within a large organisation
UK local authority or other public sector experience preferred, but not an absolute prerequisite
