Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Pensions Administrator to start on a temporary role based in Kingston for 2 months.

Job Role:

To be personally responsible for all aspects of administration for an alphabetical section of the Pension fund membership to include the calculation of:

·retirement and compensation benefits;

·death benefits and partners/children/s pensions;

·preserved benefits;

·service credits for transfers in;

·cash equivalent transfer values;

·redundancy payments, gratuities and any other payments in line with Council policy.

To plan and co-ordinate work to ensure relevant agreed timescales are met.

To deal with re-employed pensioners including ascertaining whether pension is to be reduced or suspended during re-employment and the calculation of the abatement of compensation following the cessation of re-employment.

To provide an enquiry service to members/ex-members, their families and representatives and to deal appropriately (and where necessary with tact and sympathy) with callers and correspondents.

To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the local government scheme, Compensation and Gratuity arrangements and be able to provide all necessary information, including redundancy calculations, pension information relating to Teacher’s Scheme.

To check work of other members of Pension Services including complex calculations.

To be responsible for the recharge of benefits to and from other bodies.

Candidates MUST have previous SENIOR Pensions experience.
